Hi, I’m Kevin Kopchynski. I am a long-time Western Massachusetts resident, nature/science educator, and formerly a computer network administrator.

I grew up on Long Island where I developed a deep interest in science and nature. I was a fan of Jacques Cousteau and went to the University of Rhode Island to study Marine Biology. After a few years working in that field, I felt a calling to nature that transcended specialty in any one discipline. Since then I have worked as a naturalist and teacher, and I also use my skills in computer technology as a source of income. I first came to the Western Massachusetts region in 1983 to work in Mass Audubon summer camps, and settled here year-round in 1986. I have taught geology and geologic history for the Umass Extension and have presented workshops for Berkshire Museum, Springfield College, and I have given programs at many schools and libraries. I continue to work part-time for Mass Audubon, the Springfield Science Museum, as well as freelance jobs and computer jobs.

I am also an avid photographer and I find photography to be an ideal way to combine technical skills with a love of nature. In my photography I like to emphasize experiences with nature on all scales from grand vistas to intimate details. I am a member of the Quabbin Photo Group, The Pioneer Valley Photographic Artists, The Massachusetts Camera Naturalists, and The Springfield Photographic Society.

During my journey I became interested in computer technology and learned about it, and eventually made part of my living with it.  I share my experience and help you with computer problems at computerhelpsite.net
