These images are from the 2019 Stump Sprouts Weekend. There was a nice evening display of light on Friday, followed by a show of fog on the lower hillsides on Saturday morning. The mist shifted continually, highlighting trees on the hills below over a period of about 90 minutes. Sunday offered a contrast with the cloud show taking place in the sky with great alpenglow.

Alpenglow on the First Evening Sunset can give a good show in the clouds even though we don’t have a good view to the west This river of fog kicked off a morning of watching the mist dance and play on the hillsides below Changes in the clouds also provided a good show Individual trees stood out against a changing backdrop of mist During a late morning walk in the field on Saturday we found a few of the inhabitants The next morning was a contrast as the action was provided by clouds in the sky instead of Saturday’s show of clouds on the ground This is my favorite moment of the trip. There is a timeless quality to this light as it paints the landscape.
