Stump Sprouts 2021

Here is a selection of images from my 2021 trip to Stump Sprouts. We’ll start with Saturday morning and view through the weekend.

The show starts before sunrise with this fantastic view to the east.
There isn’t a lot of action in the sky. The light is good so we’ll go see how it lights up things in the field.
Sure enough, the light played beautifully on the edge of the forest
The warm light is bathing everything in the field. These are a few backlit subjects.
No trip would be complete without a visit to the marvelous gardens on site
Developing clouds brought interest to the sky into the afternoon
The next few photos are from a trip to Hawley Bog in the afternoon
This dragonfly is inserting eggs into the stem of the plant.
Mid-level clouds with scattered low clouds brought texture and interest at dawn of morning 2.
Here comes the sun!
We were encouraged to see many Monarch Butterflies on the field during the second day. I like the shapes of the first 2 shots, but the non-flat wings give reduced zone of focus
We’ll end with a more traditional view
